Mel Grenfell and William Day from 1st Hardwick and Highfields on Thailand sub camp are camping with the scouts from Ghana. Mel went out to Ghana in 2008 to help on Project Meridian 08 with other scouts and leaders from Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire for a month.

In that time they built a Scout Hut working with local scouts in the village of Hohoe and were made to feel incredibly welcome. When Mel heard they was a group of scouts coming to camp from Ghana, she offered to camp with them. The Ghanaians have been teaching the English scouts songs, clapping games and drumming, as well as cooking traditional food such as Waakye which is rice, beans and fried chicken cooked in a hot spice.
